The history of Gateway Property Management is quite brief from the surface. However, the foundation and experience behind the company name brings over ten years of property management and real estate experience. The Gateway team of managing partners consists of Jerad Goughnour and Mitchell Freed and has since expanded to include Mallory Freed and Lauren Coe.

Mitchell Freed
Owner, Licensed Property Manager

Mitchell Freed is a Portland native, though he has lived in Milwaukee, WI and also in Italy. After graduating from Marquette University with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mitchell returned to Portland and pursued other options that eventually opened the door to real estate investment and property management.
Since 2007, he has been building a portfolio of rental properties in addition to successfully flipping houses in the Portland metro area. As an investor and developer, he enjoys seeing the transformation of houses and restoration of neighborhoods. As a licensed property manager, he provides professional and reliable services to both landlords and tenants.
Mitchell is also very active in the community. He is very proud of his Italian roots and stays connected with the Italian community in Portland. Mitch is fluent in Italian and likes to visit his extended family in southern Italy. He is also a member of the Rental Housing Association of Greater Portland and of the East Portland Chamber of Commerce.

Jerad Goughnour

Jerad Goughnour is a lifelong Oregonian that grew up in a small fishing town on the coast. After completing his bachelors degree in business at the University of Oregon, he moved to Portland to begin his dream of owning his own business and investing in real estate. Within nine months of moving to Portland fresh out college he bought his first investment property, a tri-plex along a proposed max line that he still owns.
From there, he learned more and more about real estate investing and property management and completed an MBA from the University of Portland along the way. It seemed a natural fit to share the knowledge he gained about maintenance, construction, and property management with the general public. So, he started his own property management company. His experiences and successes became the groundwork for Gateway.

Lauren Coe
Leasing Agent
Lauren grew up in Central Oregon in the small ski town of Bend, OR. After graduating from Portland State University with a degree in Psychology, she soon found interest in property management. Her passion for working with and helping people soon led her into the real estate industry, where she works closely with families and individuals to assist them in their search for a new home. She has been a part of the Gateway team since April 2015 as a leasing agent, and recently received her real estate broker’s license in the state of Oregon. During her free time, she enjoys outdoor adventures including fishing, wake surfing, and scuba diving.

Mallory Freed-Ramey
Licensed Property Manager
Mallory is a Portland native. She has also called Denver, Colorado and Florence, Italy home. After graduating from University of Denver with a BFA in Electronic Media & Design, Mallory returned to Portland to start a graphic design business. The development of her business led her to designing project proposals for a local construction management company. Through this, she became drawn to the world of real estate management and Gateway procured her skills for some early logo and website work, later bringing her on in-house in 2013. During her free time, Mallory enjoys bird-watching, forest walks, podcasting and photography.
